Some very exciting news, I AM OFFICIALLY PUBLISHED. My short story, “Short On Breath,” a supernatural thriller, was accepted and published in the Write Now presented “Freaky Friday: A Flash Fiction Anthology.” Physical copies should be available for purchase TODAY, and the Ebook is already live! What an honor to be able to participate in this spooky anthology and huge shout out to Jared and Penelope for putting this together. Grateful to be included amongst all these chilling pieces. As part of the release of the anthology, Write Now’s YouTube channel hosted a live competition for the anthology pieces, where guest authors read them aloud and the community discussed and voted for their favorites. We’ll learn the winners today, but for now, I’m excited to celebrate it’s publication. Huge shoutout to my sister and the cover artist, Miranda Green-West! Thank you for capturing the perfect moment, and making it come alive. Thank you to my husband for supporting all the weird writing times, giving me feedback and pushing me to never give up. Likewise, huge shoutout to the rest of my family for supporting me with encouragement, babysitting, and kind words, it truly means the world to me. Another big thank you to my writing community and friends, as well as all my beta readers: Amy Bell, Alison Gervais, Angela Zsembery, K.B. MacNeille, and Jessica Belshe, without you all the story would not have been what it was. And another round of applause and thanks to Jared Kauffman of Write Now, and Penelope Hartley for selecting, editing and publishing this piece.
Short On Breath Synopsis:
On her way to a cabin retreat in the middle of the night, Marissa’s fuel indicator turns on and she’s forced to exit the highway when she passes a lone figure on the road. Alone and already on edge she chooses to continue on, but little does she know leaving the hitchhiker may be her worst mistake yet.
